The Value Intelligence Conference
“Value Investing makes sense – and it works over time”. With these simple words, the legendary value investor Jean-Marie Eveillard described the advantages of this investment approach at one of his impressive appearances at the Value Intelligence Conference. Our conference is particularly interesting for those who – like Eveillard – are convinced that the value-oriented approach makes sense, are interested in a critical debate of the capital markets or are simply looking for intelligent ideas for their own investment decisions.
The Value Intelligence Conference is an event for institutional investors. It presents internationally renowned academics and value investors, thereby promoting the know-how transfer to the German-speaking investment world and advertising the long-term, disciplined and value-oriented investment style.
Since 2005, the conference has been a regular event in Munich in the summer. It is organized by Value Intelligence Advisors GmbH. Thanks to the longstanding support of Prof. Bruce Greenwald, Columbia Business School, New York, the worldwide leading academic authority in value investing and Prof. Thorsten Hens, University of Zurich, one of the most renowned professors of financial economics in the German-speaking world, the conference is one of the most sophisticated events for value investing in Europe.
The focus of the conference lies on presentations on the academic background of value investing and its practice. We introduce empirical studies, investment processes and current investment ideas regarding asset allocation as well as global stock picking.
Some of the best academics and value investors of our times traditionally speak at our event. Apart from the aforementioned Prof. Greenwald and Prof. Hens, over the years, we have been able to welcome internationally renowned economists like Charly Ellis (Harvard), Josef Lakonishok (Illinois), William Ziemba (Vancouver), Peter Bossaerts (California Institute) and Andrei Shleifer (Harvard) at the Value Intelligence Conference in Munich.
Among the outstanding value investors who spoke to the institutional audience and let them gain insights into their investment philosophy and ideas, were e.g. Jean-Marie Eveillard (First Eagle), James Montier (GMO), Howard Marks (Oaktree), Bruce Berkowitz (Fairholme), Thomas Shrager (Tweedy Browne), Donald Yacktman (Yacktman Asset Management), Amit Whadwaney (Third Avenue), Edwin Schloss (Schloss Associates), David Iben (Kopernik Global) and Caesar Bryan (Gabelli).
